Howard Barron Obituary

Howard B. Barron, 71, of Somerset, died July 23, 2020 at Meadowview Nursing Center, Berlin. Born March 27, 1949 in Somerset, he is the son of John Wesley and Made Elizabeth (Bruner) Barron Sr. Howard was a 1967 graduate of Somerset Area High School. He served in the US Army from 1968-1970 including a tour in Vietnam. Following his return he held various jobs in Somerset and finished he career with Eagle Concrete where he retired in 2017 with 20 years of service. Howard enjoyed helping on the home farm, watching football, square dancing, attending auctions, and cooking for the annual family picnic. Howard is the 16th of 17 children in the Barron family. He was preceded in death by his parents and all 6 of John's first family. Edna Romaine (Barron) Morrison, Roselyn Loretta Barron, Rachael Louise Barron, Anita Lucille (Barron) Burton, John Charles Barron, and Gail Maxine (Barron) Vavrek. Also the following brothers and sisters: Audrey Jean Barron, Cecil Clair Barron, Ellis Rodman "Joe" Barron, and Edgar Rodney Barron. He is survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Arlene (Barron) Tomanio of Latrobe, PA, Dale Bruner Barron of Montgomery Village, MD, Sandra Mayme (Barron) Crawford of Rockwood, PA, Emily Grace (Barron) Harper of Somerset, PA, Barrie Bruce Barron of Somerset, PA, and John Wesley Jr. of Johnstown, PA and many nieces and nephews. Due to current health concerns viewing and services will be private with Reverend Charles Olson officiating. Howard was a member of Samuels Lutheran Church where he will be buried.
