Inez D. Eakin, 97, of Friedens, died December 17, 2020 at Countryside Personal Care Home, Born October 31, 1923 in Somerset, she is the daughter of John Raymond and Esther Elizabeth (Sands) Miller. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred Ward Eakin Jr. who died August 22, 1989, son Jeffry Eakin, grandson Eric Dale Ankeny, sister Eris Patricia "Patty" Miller. Survived by daughter Yvonne Ankeny and husband Larry, daughter-in-law Dale Eakin, grandchildren; Jennifer Beahr and husband Todd, Lynnsey Shaughnessy and husband David, Derek Eakin and wife Alex, and Whitney Eakin and partner Rob, great-grandchildren; Molly Metzgar, Megan Beahr, Julianna, Matthew, Carter, and Penelope, great-great-grandchildren; Helen, Erik, and Jack, and brother John R. Miller of Meadville. Inez was a 1941 graduate of Somerset High School, She served her country as an official "Rosie the Riveter" in Lancaster, PA during WWII, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Somerset, and spent her life dedicated to her family. Visitation and services will be private. Interment St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice 1590 N. Center Ave. #103 Somerset, PA 15501.
