Jack Dean Ankeny Obituary

Jack Dean Ankeny, 93, of Somerset, died March 17, 2025 at Somerset Senior Living. Born November 12, 1931 in Somerset, he is the son of Roy and Mary (Gerhardt) Ankeny. Preceded in death by his wife the former Shirley Ann Moore, son Randy John Ankeny, and sister Norma Miller. Survived by his daughters; Lynne Dively and husband Terry of Friedens, and Karen Szabo and husband Christopher of Bethel Park, grandchildren; Eric Dively and wife Tiffany, and Melissa Szabo, great-granddaughter Ember Grace Dively. Jack was a graduate of Somerset High School, he was a US Army Veteran of Korea. He worked until his retirement as a heavy equipment mechanic, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the VFW. Jack loved car racing including NASCAR and Indycar, he was a Steeler fan, and enjoyed bus trips with his wife. Friends received 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m with Reverend Eric Raygor officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Military rites accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church 320 Felgar Rd.
