James Kenneth Stern, 79 of Friedens, died December 3, 2020 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born October 18, 2020 in Somerset, he is the son of Ross J. and Violet P. (Miller) Stern. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Sandra Faye Dunn who died January 14, 2014, son James Ross Stern, and grandchildren; Jolynn Rose and Cassandra Jean Haupt, and Kenneth Haupt. Survived by his children, Joseph Rose of Somerset, and Susan Stern of Friedens, grandchildren; Jeremy Rose, and wife Nikki, Robert and Douglas Haupt, and 9 great-grandchildren, also his sister Audrey Stern-Hershey of West Grove. James was a graduate of Somerset High School, he served in the US Navy and later in the US National Guard where he retired, following retirement he did maintenance for Walmart. He was a member of the Harley Association and the NRA. No viewing or visitation, a private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
