Jean Lucille Alnor

Jean Lucille Alnor, 94, of Somerset, died December 23, 2021 at Countryside Personal Care Home, Friedens. Born December 13, 1927 in Somerset, she is the daughter of William Lohr and Anna (Ream) Barkley. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Reverend Warren Kievit Anor Sr., son William Alnor, an infant daughter Deborah Jean Alnor, brothers; Eldon, Ralph, and Dwight Barkley, and sisters; Wilma Beckner and Ruth Barkley. Survived by children: Warren Alnor Jr. and wife Peggy, Rozel, Kan.; Rev. Kay Frances Alnor, Somerset, Anna Lucile List and husband Raymond, Raleigh, N.C.; daughter-in-law Jackie Alnor of Texas, nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Jean was a graduate of Somerset High School, and a graduate of William Paterson College where she received a master degree in special education and she graduated from Drew Theological School where she received her Masters in Divinity. she began her career as a school teacher, she was later a principal for Red Bird Mission in Nebraska, and later became a pastor. She was a member of Great Plains Annual Conference where she was a minister. Jean was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Somerset. Friends will be received 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Somerset, where a service will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend David McCall officiating. Interment Lavansville Cemetery.
