Jeffrey Cale Obituary

Jeffrey Cale, Latrobe (formerly of Somerset and West Mifflin, PA), passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He will be remembered most for his loving heart, his giving nature, and the many lives he changed.He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda; mother Lois; sister Donna Banks and husband Glenn Yeager; brother David Cale and wife Leeann; nephew Billy Cale, wife Ali, and son Callen; niece Tabitha Cale Elkington, husband Brian, and daughter Ayla; sister-in-law Judy Mori and husband Dan; niece Crystal Mori Shank and husband Kris, and their children Ava and Mason; nephew Anthony Mori; brother-in-law Albert Romesburg and wife Donna; niece Tara Romesburg Wilt and nephew Chuck Romesburg; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Jeff attended IUP and received a degree in music education. Upon graduation, he followed his lifelong love of music to a career as a band director for five years. He then returned to IUP to complete graduate studies in counseling. After graduate work, Jeff held a variety of positions within state and county governments, including employment counseling and eventually mental health rehabilitation. In addition, he was a GED teacher for ten years. He also served as a member of at least 10 civic and educational organizations throughout Somerset. Jeff's favorite hobby was music. He and Linda especially enjoyed Broadway musicals and attended over 100 different shows. They had Pittsburgh CLO season tickets, Broadway series season tickets, as well as Pittsburgh symphony season tickets, and they attended the occasional opera and ballet. He also enjoyed traveling. His love of the beach was born of family vacations from a young age to Ocean City, New Jersey, where he and Linda also spent many summer vacations. They also traveled widely throughout the states and visited Mexico and Canada. Arrangements are being handled by Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Somerset, PA. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 5 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 6, at Hauger-Zeigler with Pastor David McCall officiating.
