Jerome "Jerry" James Purcell, 72, of Somerset, died November 19, 2018 at his home. Born August 17, 1946 in Pottsville, he is the son of the late Jerome James and Veronica (Shore) Purcell. Survived by his daughter, Leah Walker and husband Lucas of Carlisle, sisters, Mary Jo Purcell of the state of California, and Ellen Purcell of Scranton. Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Pottsville High School, a 1968 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a 1971 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Law School. He worked as an attorney for many years in Pittsburgh and later opened his own practice in Jones Mills. He loved sailing, restoring old homes, and collecting nautical antiques.
