Joan Dora Damico

Joan Dora Damico, 89, of Somerset, died January 30, 2019 at The Patriot.  Born February 17, 1929 in Somerset, she is the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Vonmoose) Sandusky.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred Joseph Damico Jr. who died March 4, 2009, and brothers Donald and Carl Sandusky.  Survived by her children: Barbara Thorwart and husband Daniel of Johnsonburg, David Damico Sr. married to the former Nancy Clark of Somerset, Douglas Damico married to the former Lynne McKee of Friedens, and Kathleen Geary and husband Joseph of Somerset; grandchildren: Jennifer Martin and husband Josh, Daniel Thorwart and wife Sarah, Adam Thorwart, Kaelyn Schachter and husband Corey, David Damico Jr. and fiance Carrie Baltzer, Zachary Damico and wife Chelsy, Taeler Jano and husband Ethan, Brittany Pizer and husband Jordan, Kelsey Baker and husband Vincent, and Emily Lloyd, also 10 great grandchildren, and brother Harry Sandusky of Somerset.  Joan worked for Riverside Market and later for the Hello Shop where she retired.  She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, and enjoyed bowling duckpins, sewing and ceramics.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with Father Angelo Patti Celebrant.  Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice PO Box 1173 Somerset, PA 15501. www.haugerzeigler.com
