John Alex Sayler, 81, of Berlin, died February 25, 2026 at The Patriot. Born September 5, 1944 in Latrobe, he is the son of Alva Bruce and Lucy Matilda (Himmler) Sayler. Preceded in death by his parents and wife the former Dorothy Ann Kirchner. Survived by his daughters Susan Gandee and husband Ron of Johnstown and Stacey Nair and husband James of Somerset, grandchildren Ashley Robine and husband Garrett, John Herring and companion Allysha, Andrew Nair and wife Anna, and Alex Nair, great-grandchildren Aubrey, Avery, and Baylani, and sister Alice Ann Sayler of Huntingdon. John was a 1962 graduate of Somerset High School and was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam. He worked as a welder for PBS, JLG, and Global where he retired. John also was a member of FOE where he was a past vice-president and a trustee. He enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. No viewing or visitation a private service will be conducted at the convince of the family. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
