Julius Ralph "Squeeze" Long, 95, of Somerset, died January 31, 2020 at The Heritage at Siemon's. Born November 3, 1924 in Roaring Spring, he is the son of Howard and Ethel (Pote) Long. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Maxine Joyce Moffitt, granddaughter Megan Lea Peters, and 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by his children; Michael D. Long and wife Giang of Lacey, WA, and Michelle D. Peters and husband John of Friedens, grandchildren, John Ryan Peters and wife Elissa, Matthew Peters and wife Alyssa, Ronna Yablonkski and husband Bradley, Tammy Pressley, William Basinger Jr., and Annie Dang, great-grandchildren, Megan, Emma, Trey, Sydney, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Bethenee, David and Jonathan, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Squeeze was a graduate of Roaring Spring High School, and Juniata College, he was a US Army Veteran of WWII, he worked until his retirement with over 40 years of service for New Enterprise, he was a member of Lodge 358 F&AM, a founding member of Somerset Area Little League, and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Reverend Arnold T. McFarland officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Somerset Aid Home PO Box 1195 Somerset, PA 15501.
