Kurt Melvin Walker Obituary

Kurt Melvin Walker, 70, of Somerset, died November 20, 2025 at Somerset Health & Rehab. Born November 2, 1955 in Somerset, he is the son of Ray Melvin and Anna Louise (Brant) Walker. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Scott W. Walker, and an infant brother Roger Lee Walker. Survived by his wife the former Lucinda Christine Shaffer, son Daniel Eliias Walker and wife Chenjiajing "Jenny" of Pittsburgh, and sister Sally Zerfoss of Hardy, VA. Kurt was a 1973 graduate of Somerset High School, also a 1977 graduate of Penn State University as a Agricultural Engineer. He worked as a Agricultural Engineer and later as a self employed dairy farmer where he retired. He was a member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren, Somerset County Farm Bureau, and was former Director of Somerset Conservation District. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday December 1, 2025 at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday December 2, 2025 with Pastors John and Linda Stoner officiating.
