Larry Dale Ankeny

Larry Dale Ankeny, 75, of Somerset, died October 19, 2021 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born April 17, 1946 in Somerset, he is the son of Harold D. and Elsie K. (Sarver) Ankeny. Preceded in death by his parents, son Eric D. Ankeny, and sister Nancy Jo DenBleyker. Survived by his wife the former J. Yvonne Eakin to who he was married 57 years, daughter Jennifer L. Beahr and husband Todd of Holsopple, and granddaughters Molly Metzgar and husband Carl of Somerset, and Megan Beahr of Seattle, WA, grandchildren; Helen, Erik, and Jack Metzgar, sister, Karen Ritchey and husband Mark of Somerset, and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew Lucas Rich. Larry was a 1964 graduate of Somerset High School, he worked until his retirement as a foreman for PennDOT, he was a member of the Doric Lodge in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and attended Bethany United Methodist Church. Friends received 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday with Reverend Barry K. Ritenour officiating.
