Louis George Sredy

Louis George Sredy, 84, of Somerset, died February 15, 2020 at Somerset Hospice House. Born December 1, 1935 in Elizabeth, PA, he is the son of Marko "Mark" and Anna (Protz) Sredy. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rudolph, Stephen, and Ralph Sredy, sister Florence Pelligrini, and 2 infant children Stanley and Hope. Survived by his wife the former Ruby Irene Beener to whom he was married 58 years, children; Michelle Sredy and partner Daniel Funk and Luke Sredy and partner Beth Stutzman all of Somerset, grandchildren: Anna and Rosalind Chan and Preston and Carson Sredy. Lou was a 1954 graduate of Somerset High School and a US Army Veteran of Korea. He worked until his retirement as a self employed farmer and owner of Larue Meat Processing. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, was a former board member of the American Association of Meat Processors, and he loved hunting, fishing and farming. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday with Reverend J. Matthew Deal officiating. Interment New Centerville Union Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's UCC 202 W.
