Lowell Kurtz Obituary

Lowell Clair Kurtz, 79, of Friedens, passed safely into the arms of Jesus on January 3, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born November 21, 1942 in Reading, he is the son of Omar and Delphia (Plank) Kurtz. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother David Mast. Survived by his wife the former Laura Ann Dorsey to whom he was married 43 years, sons; Lee A. Kurtz and wife Mara of Friedens, and Loren C. Kurtz and wife Sarah of Colorado Springs, grandchildren; Brooke, Olivia, Aiden, Liliana, Violet, Maxwell, and Rosalie, and brother and sisters; Edward Kurtz and wife Helen,Christine Troyer and husband Bill, Salome "Sally" Leinbach and husband Russ, and Dorothy "Dotty" Martin. Lowell worked until his retirement as self employed dairy farmer and truck driver, he attended Somerset Alliance Church, and loved Holstein cattle, working on John Deere tractors, woodworking, and was an avid reader later in life. Friends received 3-6 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Somerset Alliance Church where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Donald Robson officiating.
