Mardel J. Sechrengost, 73, of Stoystown, died August 3, 2024 at her home. Born January 21, 1951 in Canton, OH, she is the daughter of Donald and Twila (Saul) Pringle. Preceded in death by her parents, and first husband Reverend Curtis Kaptein. Survived by her second husband William H. Sechrengost to whom she was married 20 years, sons Timothy Kaptein and wife Lindsay, Daniel Kaptein and wife Alyse, grandchildren Jax, Lyla, Cody, and Ryleigh, brothers and sisters Errol Pringle, Janine Meier and husband Philip, Luane Imdorf, and Lemoyne Pringle and wife Priscilla. Mardel was a graduate of Glenwood High School, she attended Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, and later graduate from Olivet Nazarene University, and later received her masters from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She worked until her retirement as a registered nurse for Torrance State Hospital, and was a member of the Somerset Church of the Nazarene where she was very involved. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, a service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Somerset Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Stephen Zirkle officiating.
