Marjorie Arlene Jacob, 87, of Somerset, died September 6, 2024 at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. Born September 22, 1936 in Meyersdale, she is the daughter of John Albert and Marjorie (Gill) Bolden. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eugene, Richard, Kenneth, and John Bolden Jr., and two infant sisters. Survived by her husband Vincent Joseph Jacob to whom she was married 67 years, children Maria Smith and husband Shawn of Buckhannon, WV, Vincent Jacob Jr. and wife Robyn of East Burke, VT, Theresa Rykken and husband Mark of Ridgewood, NJ, John Jacob and wife Seabrook of State College, David Jacob, and Beth VanLenten and husband Michael all of Somerset, 19 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Marjorie was a 1954 graduate of Meyersdale High School, and a Summa Cum Laude master's graduate in philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a co-chair of Christian Family Movement. She was a loving wife and wondrous mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, with Father Angelo Patti Celebrant. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.
