Mark William "Pappy" Younkin, 61, of Somerset, died October 7, 2022 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born November 12, 1960 in Meyersdale he is the son of Robert Younkin and Elaine (Burkett) Younkin. Preceded in death by his father, wife the former Kimberly Jean Scheffel who died August 19, 2021, brother Gregory Younkin, and grandson-in-law Joseph Baker. Survived by his mother of Rockwood, children: Amanda Burnsworth and husband Eric, Mark Younkin Jr. all of Somerset, Renee Emerick and husband James of Markleton, grandchildren: Jessica, Brady, Damien, Christen, Cody, and Aleah, great-grandchildren; Ayden, Elijah, Carson, and Mayson, Cecilia, and Adaline, also sister Sharon Harrity and husband Bob of Shanksville. Mark worked until his retirement as a lift mechanic at Hidden Valley Resort, and as a concrete finisher. He attended Somerset Church of the Nazarene, was a member of Trent Rod & Gun Club, Laurel Ridge Sportsmen. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Friends received 12 noon until 1 p.m. Saturday October 29, 2022 at the Somerset Church of the Nazarene, where a service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Zirkle officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to meet the needs of the family.
