Marsha Mardis Obituary

Marsha Darlene Mardis, 75 of Berlin, died October 9, 2021 at Somerset Hospice House. Born July 7, 1946 in Frederick, MD, she is the daughter of the late Franklin W. and Irene (Truitt) Heck. Preceded in death by her parents, and her husband George Elwood Mardis who died February 6, 2016, son, Keith Mardis and step-granddaughter Treena Burkett Roddy. Survived by her children: Kurt Mardis married to the former Rhonda Ohler of Friedens, Shane Mardis of Morgantown, Maria Burkett and husband Richard of Friedens and Naomi Segafredo of Cranberry, grandchildren: Chase, Mia and Tate, step-children: Richard S. Burkett and wife Melissa of Friedens, and Sydney Brake and husband Chris of Anchorage, and step great granddaughter Rylee Burkett. Marsha was a graduate of St. John's High School in Frederick, she worked until her retirement for Top Hat Cleaners in Somerset, and she was an avid crafter. Friends received 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Reverend William Dodson officiating.
