Mary Emma Gardner, 92, of Somerset, died November 27, 2023 at The Patriot. Born January 23, 1931 in Acosta, she is the daughter of Calvin LaRue and Lottie Elizabeth (Nicklow) Stiffler. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Luther Gene Gardner Sr., brother Robert Stiffler Sr., sons-in-law, Paul Wicks and Douglas Kimmel Sr. Survived by her children: Jean Ann Wicks of Somerset, Kay Lynn Kimmel of Meyersdale, Luther G. Gardner Jr. and wife Vanessa of Friedens, and Kevin A. Gardner and wife Sandy of Colorado, grandchildren: Douglas Kimmel Jr. and fiance Jarrod Piper, Christopher Wicks and wife Brittany, Benjamin Gardner and wife Courtney, Nathan Gardner and wife Anna, Cienna, Wyatt, and Morgan Gardner, great-grandchildren: Caleb, Braelynn, Avery, and Vivienne, and brother Wilbert Stiffler of Acosta. Mary was a graduate of Somerset High School, she worked until her retirement as a telephone operator for GTE, and later worked for Walmart. No viewing or visitation a private service will be conducted at a later date. Interment Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church 1237 Berlin Plank Rd.
