Mary Pauline Hostetler, 102, of Friedens, died March 7, 2025 at The Patriot. Born May 24, 1922 in Somerset, she is the daughter of William W. and Martha (Frahlich) Engleka. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwight William Hostetler, son Lee Hostetler, granddaughter Melissa Miller, brothers Reon, Spahn, Paul, and Eugene Engleka, and sister Ruth Engleka, and son-in-law Dale Shockey. Survived by her daughters Paulette Jenkins and husband Daniel of Friedens, Glennes Miller of Friedens, and Marlene Putman and husband Scott of Stoystown. grandchildren Brenda (Eric) White, Martha (John) Cree, Kathy (Justus) Stull, Laura (Shawn) Woltz, Justin (Brenda) Miller, Kevin (Janna) Miller, Kara Putman, Jann (Alan) Motchenbaugh, and Julie (Scott) Johnson, and 14 great-grandchildren. Mary was a 1940 graduate of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School, she was a member of the Roxbury Trinity United Church of Christ, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlework, and enjoyed collecting old post cards, dolls, paperweights, and doing puzzles. The family would like to thank the staff at The Patriot for their loving care. Friends received 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation services Somerset, and from 10-11 a.m Wednesday at the Roxbury Trinity United Church of Christ, 9044 Glades Pike, Berlin, PA Berlin, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Joseph Beer officiating.
