Mary Jean Long Obituary

Mary "Jean"(Engle) Long, 98, of Friedens, died March 18, 2025 at Countryside Personal Care Home. Born August 11, 1926 in Roxbury, she is the daughter of G.L. and Mabel (Musser) Engle. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn Allen Long, and sisters Dorothy (Richard) Custer and Ruth (Terry) Holland, and infant brothers Buddy and Junior. Survived by her children Christine Cunningham and husband Barry of Knoxville, TN, Allen J. Long of Berlin, 5 grandchildren, 13, great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mary Jean was a 1944 graduate of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Somerset. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed bingo, ice cream, car rides, and word search books. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends received 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m with Reverend Ruth Jensen officiating.
