Mona Joan Barndt, 95, of Berlin, formerly of Listie, died April 6, 2025 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born March 7, 1930 in Windber, she is the daughter of Chester and Cora (Snyder) Holsopple. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl Stewart Barndt, step-mother Vera Holsopple, foster parents Effie and Chuck Ling, sisters Alice Mitrin, Allegra May, Peg Tapper, Bette Croyle, and Beverly Helsel, brother Bernard "Bud" Holsopple, foster sisters LuElla Weimer, Jean Mason, and Fern Mostoller, and foster brother Glenn Hunter. Survived by her children Barbara Hoffman and husband Roger, and John Barndt and wife Sally all of Somerset, grandchildren Eric, Amanda, Heath, Keely, Corey, and Nathan, and 8 great-grandchildren. Mona wasa 1949 graduate of Somerset Twp. High School, she worked for Somerset Hospital and for Riverside Market, she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Listie Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteered for Head Start. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m with Reverend Kathlenn Stump officiating.
