Nancy Elizabeth Bittner

Nancy Elizabeth (Larkin) Bittner, 75, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025 at her home. She was born August 7, 1949 in Uniontown, and the daughter of Dr. William A. and Barbara (Kough) Larkin. Preceded in death by her parents, brother William Larkin Jr. and sister Louise Rutherford. She is survived by her husband Dr. James H. Bittner to whom she was married 41 years, sisters Suellen Carbin and husband John, Elinor Larkin, and brother James Larkin. Nancy was a graduate of Uniontown High School, she received her Masters of Education from the University of Pittsburgh, and taught physical education and health at Steel Valley School District in Pittsburgh, before moving to Somerset. She was a member of the Somerset Garden Club, where she served as President and District VI Director. Nancy was a National Garden Club Flower Show judge and was instrumental in starting the Laurel Highlands Landscape Design Council. She was also the office manager for her husbands dental practice where she welcomed everyone with a smile and a friendly face. She was a blessing. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with Reverend Arnold McFarland officiating.
