Ray E. Phillippi Obituary

Ray Edgar Phillippi, 86, of Somerset, passed away October 26, 2023. Born August 2, 1937 in Somerset, the son of the late Clifford Ray and Helen Marie (Hill) Phillippi.



He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Miller; daughter: Cheryl (Timothy) Weimer; son: Mark Phillippi and fiancée Kristine Pugh; grandchildren: Cassie (Clinton) Wright and Chelsey (Jared) Svonavec; great grandchildren: Addley Ohler, and Amya Svonavec ; and unborn great grandson: Walker Wright; sister: Martha (James) Onstead; nephews: Jim Onstead and Stephen (Shari) Onstead.



1955 graduate of Somerset High School. He was a member of PA Company C. Ray was employed by A&P Grocery, Somerset Sewing Center, and retired from Fieg Bros. Coal Co. where he was an equipment operator.



He was an avid hunter, enjoyed being outdoors, and watching the Steelers, Penn State, and golf. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.



Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Pike Run Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Stephen Onstead officiating and Mrs. Shari Onstead, pianist. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given in his name to UPMC Somerset Family Hospice, PO Box 1173, Somerset, PA 15501.
