Richard Leland Menser, 94, of Somerset, died January 7, 2022 at Somerset Hospice House. Born November 3, 1927 in Somerset, he is the son of Freeman Lawrence and Mayme Ruth (Pyle) Menser. Preceded in death by his parents, and sister Dorothy E. Brant. Survived by his son Rick Menser of, and sisters; Doris Miller, Lola Weimer of all of Somerset, and Della Baumgardner and husband Charles of Stoystown. Richard is a 1945 graduate of Somerset High School, and a US Navy Veteran, he worked until his retirement as a lineman for Penelec. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, NRA, a lifetime member of the VFW, and enjoyed hunting and collecting arrowheads. Friends received 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Reverend Eric Raygor officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice PO Box 1173. Military rites accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
