Robert S. Brant, 92, of Somerset, died peacefully at home on December 8, 2020. He was born February 11, 1928 in Somerset to George E. and Anna Mae (Shank) Brant. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Duane E. Brant and sisters E. Marie Wentz and Elaine Nicklow. Survived by his wife of 68 years the former Helen Long, children, Ben (Valarie) and Malinda (Christopher) Forry, grandchildren; Seth (Michelle) Forry, Ethan (Courtney) Forry, and step grandchildren; Cheryl (Keith) Opel and Amanda (Wesley) Teets, great-grandchildren; Sara and Kaitlyn Forry, and step-great-grandchildren; Tyler and Audrey Opel, and Dylan Teets, also many special nieces and nephews. Robert was a 1945 graduate of Somerset High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. While in the Army he was stationed in Germany and served as a Munitions Transport Truck Driver. Following his military service he was a truck driver for 50 years and was owner of Brants Farm and Garden along with his wife until his retirement in 1995. Robert was a member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren for many years and currently a member of the Breachdale Church of the Brethren. He served many positions within the church, he was also a member of the Odd Fellows. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
