Roberta "Bobbie" Elizabeth Pickett 61, died at home in Sterling, VA on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Roberta Elizabeth Pope was born in Somerset, PA on January 17, 1964 to Evelyn Pope (birth father Robert Myrick). She was adopted May 24,1968 by Gilbert Pickett and her name was officially changed to Roberta Elizabeth Pickett. She is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Pickett. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Pickett, Sterling, VA; and sister Debra Wilburn, Romeoville, IL and brother James G. Pickett, Sterling, VA. Her aunt Linda Earls, uncle Marlin Davis, Brentwood CA, uncle Eddie Davis, San Jose, CA and aunt Rosetta Yancey, Somerset, PA. She is also survived by three nieces Summer, Sierra and Skyler Wilburn, Romeoville, IL plus many cousins and her beloved dog Jasper.
Bobbie graduated in 1982 from Elgin High School, Elgin IL where she was on the Pom Pom Squad. She was active in her youth group at First Christian Church. She graduated in 1986 from Eureka College in Eureka, IL. While at Eureka she sang in their traveling choir and joined Phi Omega Sorority.
In September 1986 she moved with her family to Sterling, VA. Bobbie managed Baker's Shoe Store in the Manassas VA mall for a few years. For the last 36 years she worked for United Airlines as a Customer Service Agent at Washington Dulles International Airport, Dulles, VA. Bobbie enjoyed reading, cruising with family and friends, vacationing with her nieces, avid cross stitcher (many beautiful pictures), singing, baking and spending time with her dog, Jasper.
