Ruth Ann Blenden

Ruth Ann Blenden, 72, of Somerset, died January 3, 2023 at home. Born September 7, 1950 in Johnstown, daughter of Frank and Rose (Risko) Popp. Preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Easton Van Egdom. Survived by husband, H. Elton Blenden II, to whom she was married 51 years, daughters, Courtney Getty (Earl), and Stacy Van Egdom (Jared) all of Altoona, grandchildren: Bella, Evan, Enoch, and Chase, sister Marsha Carr (Jim) of Davidsville, numerous nephews and special niece Angela Yoder and sons. Ruth was a graduate of Johnstown High School, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and achieved master's of education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She worked until her retirement as a school teacher for Conemaugh Valley Elementary where she retired with 30 years of service. Ruth was a member of Somerset Church of Christ. No viewing or visitation, a service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Somerset Church of Christ 310 S. Kimberly Ave. Somerset, PA 15501.
