Samuel Tinkey, 92, of Somerset, died January 13, 2026 at The Patriot Village, Somerset.
Born March 26, 1933 in Jefferson Twp., the son of Floyd Westley and Maggie (Sleasman) Tinkey. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings: infant sister, twin brothers, Ruth Barron, Robert Lee Tinkey, Clyde Tinkey, John Tinkey, Jerry Tinkey, Ruby Ferner, Shirley Miller, Shelva Jean Miller, Glenn "Mack" Tinkey. Survived by his son, Samuel Lee (Nancy) Tinkey, Somerset; grandchildren: Alisha (Kevin) Spangler, Ashley (Tyler) Shumaker Tyler, Amber (Andrew) Walker, Korey (Nicole) Tinkey; great grandchildren: Ryder, Max, Luke, Ryan, Kole, Karsyn, Emily, and Klayton; and brother: Domer Tinkey. He enjoyed getting his tractors out each spring to get his garden ready, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially giving them candy. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting deer. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Somerset, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Interment Ferguson-Nedrow Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Somerset.
