Monsignor Samuel John Tomaselli, 92, of Somerset, died November 2, 2025 at The Patriot. Born November 13, 1932 in Portage, he is the son of Samuel and Agnes (Galioto) Tomaselli. Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Joseph and Anthony Tomaselli. Survived by his sister-in-law Dolores Tomaselli, and nieces and nephews Annette Bernazoli, Bruce and Anthony Tomaselli, and Therese Wolford. Father Tomaselli was a graduate of Portage High School, he spent two years at St. Francis College, and six years at St. Vincent Seminary and was ordained May 23, 1959. He served as Associate Pastor at Saint Agnes Parish in Lock Haven, Saint Joseph Parish in Renovo, and Saint Patrick Parish in Johnstown. He was Pastor at Saint Joseph Parish in Boswell, Saint Michael Parish in Listie, Saint Gregory Parish in MacDonaldton, and Saint Peter Parish in Somerset where he retired in 2009. He was named Chaplain to His Holiness in 1987, and was a chaplain at the Somerset State Hospital for 22 years He enjoyed woodworking and artistic painting. Friends received 8-11 a.m.Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, where a funeral mass will immediately follow at 11 a.,m. with Father Angelo Patti Celebrant.
