Valla Ruth Dickey, 87, of Berlin, formerly of Rockwood, died December 14, 2020 at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. Born June 13, 1933 in Milford Twp., she is the daughter of Russell W. and Lottie (Meyers) Pletcher. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis "June" Dickey Jr. who died December 19, 2010, sister Arlene V. Knopsnyder and an infant great-grandson Conner. Survived by her daughters; Diane Saylor of Berlin, and Denise Peck and husband James of Rockwood, grandchildren: Michael Beam and wife Kimberly, Mandy Shultz and husband Tony, Carrie Saylor, Jason Peck and wife Jill, and Jeremy Peck, great-grandchildren; Emma, Hannah, Brayden, Makayla, Katie, Josie, Chrislyn, Cydney, and Aaron. Valla was a graduate of Rockwood High School, she worked as a waitress, and following that she worked 34 years at the Sewing Factory in Shawleytown and later in the Deli Department for County Market where she retired. She was also a member of Milford United Methodist Church where she had taught Bible School and Sunday School. Friends received 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Reverend Douglas Burns officiating.
