W. Jean Walker, 97, of Somerset, died January 7, 2022 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor. Born October 18, 1924 in Bellltown, she is the daughter of Jacob Ernest and Pauline (Smalley) Thomas. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederick Walker, sons; Robert F. and Donald E. Walker, brothers; Gerald and James Thomas, sisters; Betty Geller, Delores Mack, and Helen Bruny. Survived by her grandchildren; Robert C. Walker and wife Adrienne of Somerset, Michael D. Walker of Jennerstown, Gary L. Walker and wife Teresa of Acosta, Jacob D. Walker of Boswell, Molly Brant of Ferndale, and Todd Walker of Boswell, also numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Jean worked until her retirement as a dietary aide for the former Somerset State Hospital, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was involved with the Somerset County Blind Association. Friends received 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ruth Jensen officiating.
