William Dennis Cober, 76, of Somerset, died June 13, 2023 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born March 16, 1947 in Somerset, he is the son of Robert Doyle and Mary Isabelle (Felker) Cober Jr. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother Robert D. Cober Jr. Survived by his wife the former Shirley Ann Shaffer to whom he was married 53 years, sons: Marc Cober of Johnstown, and Scott Cober of Somerset, grandchildren: Hunter, Makenna, and Reese, and sister, Linda Mosley and husband Mike of Spring Branch, TX. Bill was a 1967 graduate of Somerset High School, he was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a mechanic and later as a Auto Trades Instructor for SCI Somerset, he was a past board member for Somerset Schools from 1985-1993, a member of American Legion, and enjoyed drag racing and RC flying. Friends received 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday with Reverend Kathleen Stump officiating.
