William Hoffman Obituary

William Richard "Bill" Hoffman, 80, of Sipesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at UPMC Somerset. Bill was born on May 13, 1942, on the family farm in Lincoln Twp, son of the late Clark W. and Anna Ruth (Swank) Hoffman. He is survived by his wife the former Monnia Lea Charlesworth to whom he was married 58 years, sons; William "Scott" husband of Darlene (King) Hoffman, and Richard C. "Rich" husband of Beth (Sheeler) Hoffman, granddaughters Julia and Terran, and 2 great-granddaughters Ellison and Adalyn.  Sister, Jean Coley, brother, George Hoffman, brother, Clark Hoffman, and numerous nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Beitzel, 3 brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law. Bill retired from Gilmour Manufacturing where he worked as a Mold Maker. Volunteering was an important aspect of Bill's life and he was always willing and eager to help anyone with whatever they needed. Mr. Hoffman was a Mason since 1975 and was a member of Somerset Masonic Lodge #358 and the Harrisburg Consistory.  He was also an active member of Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, and Somerset County Shrine Club.  Bill was a lifetime member of the Sipesville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a very proud and active member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.  He took great pride in not only attending church and the men's group there but also helping with many projects around the church. Bill enjoyed hunting, restoring John Deere tractors, and working in his and Monnia's yard, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Those that knew Bill, knew what a loving, hardworking and dedicated person he was and how his personality and laugh could light up a room and his warm and sincere hug could brighten anyone's day.  Bill never met a stranger and always went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome.  He was an all-around amazing person who never complained and was always thankful for each day. Bill was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
