William Howard Kuhlman, 88, of Somerset, died September 3, 2022 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born May 21, 1934 in Somerset, he is the son of Harold E. and Jennie M. (Miklavich) Kuhlman. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Gonzalez, and twin infant grandsons; Ryan and Matthew. Survived by his wife the former Shirley Ann Wagner-Keefer to whom he was married 66 years, children: Karen Bryan and husband Richard of McDonald, Roger Kuhlman and wife Debra of Marco Island, and Steven Kuhlman and wife Amy of Sinking Spring, grandchildren: Amanda Shaffer Meier, Sarah Orient and husband Matthew, Sean Black, Jessica Parr and husband Evan, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Owen, and Allison Kuhlman, and brother Harold Kuhlman and wife Elke of Seattle WA. Bill was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School, and a 1956 graduate of California State Teachers College, he also did addition studies at Penn State, Kent Universities, and the University of Pittsburgh. He worked as a school teacher, and later was the Principal for Somerset High School, where he retired in 1996. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department, Somerset Lions Club, and served on the board of the Somerset Water Authority. Bill enjoyed golfing, and motorcycling. Friends received 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ruth Jensen officiating.
