About Hauger-Zeigler
The history of Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home dates back to the 1920’s. Originally Brooks and Landis Funeral Home, Charles Hauger partnered with Brooks and the funeral home was named Brooks and Hauger Funeral Home. Charles Hauger later purchased the partnership and the funeral home was named Charles Hauger Funeral Home. Upon his death in 1961 his son Richard Hauger purchased the funeral Home naming it Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, then in 1986 upon Richard’s retirement his son-in-law Edward Zeigler purchased the funeral home, naming it Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Edward Zeigler died in 2004 and the business was purchased by his son Brian Zeigler who continues to own and operate the four generation funeral home.

Brian G. Zeigler, owner and funeral director is a fourth generation funeral director following the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great-grandfather before him. He attended Susquehanna University and, he is a graduate of Robert Morris College and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Brian is past president of the Somerset County Funeral Directors Association. He is also a bassist with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and involved with Laurel Arts.

Edwin W. Buck is a funeral director and longtime Bethel Park Native. He was a longtime business owner and entered the funeral profession later in life. He is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He started with Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home in 2009. Ed is is a member of the Somerset County Funeral Directors Association, St. Anne Church, and a past member of the Rotary Club, Serra Club and St. Vincent De Paul.

Ralph B. Barndt, born and raised in Somerset, He has worked with the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home through three generations of ownership. Ralph began his career in 1964 with Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, and continues to be a mainstay. Ralph is a member of the First Christian Church in Somerset.

Thomas J. Courtney currently resides and is a native of Meyersdale, PA. He formerly worked with Hauger-Zeigler Funeral and rejoined us in 2008. Tom is also a member of the Meyersdale Elks.

Frederick W. Corbett is a Stoystown/Shanksville native and now lives in Somerset. Upon his retirement from the Nabisco Company in 2002, Fred then joined the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral home. Fred attends the First Christian Church, and is a member of Lodge 358 F&AM and FOE Aerie 1801
