David William Emert, 91, of Somerset, died January 21, 2016, at his home. Born July 10, 1924 in Acosta. He is the son of Charles William and Edna May (Woy) Emert. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Josephine Ann Mangne who died June 2, 2013, brothers: Monroe, John, and Charles Ray Emert, and sisters: Pearl E. Shaffer, Thelma M. Kowalczyk, Ethel M. Diest, and Ruth D'Alassandro. Survived by daughter Barbara Sheehan and her significant other Robert DeSantis of Pittsburgh, granddaughter Jennifer Sheehan, and many nieces and nephews. David is a US Army Air Corp. veteran of WWII, he worked until his retirement in 1986 in the service department for Pa Department of Transportation, he was also a member of American Legion Post 181. Friends received 10 a.m.-12 noon Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset with Fr. Daniel O'Neill officiating. Interment Lichty Cemetery.
